As a freshman in 2015, McConnell went 17:53.60 and he's steadily improved on his subsequent trips to the National Trail Raceway. During his sophomore campaign, he posted a time of 16:35.20 and last year he further lowered his course best to 16:28.00. Now a senior, the Kenston representative will be seeking a strong start to the season and another personal course record. He currently resides in fifty-ninth position on the meet's all-time results list.
McConnell has competed at the last two Ohio State Cross Country Championships and he's coming off a successful junior year where he notched six top 5 finishes, highlighted by his 15:50.71 effort at the District - Trumbull County Fairgrounds meet.
