Turpin's Sam Bush got her cross country season off to an impressive start with her victory in the Large Schools Division II race at Saturday's OHSAA Early Season Invitational in Hebron.
Bush recorded an OH No. 1 / US No. 11 time of 18:45.10 and finished over forty-five seconds ahead of the runner-up. Sophomore Ella Lambert, also of Turpin, placed second due to her 19:32.70 effort.
Bush's time was the fastest of the day; Highland-Medina's Kaylie Kenne, who won the DI race, ranks second in the state from her 18:48.40 result. Bush looks to be in store for a big season - in 2017, as a junior, she notched three race wins and established her pr of 17:36.18.
