Bailey Roberts Earns Third Consecutive War On The Shore Win

Bailey Roberts successfully executed the rarely achieved three-peat.  The senior from Edgewood-Ashtabula earned the race win at Monday's War on the Shore, which was hosted by Lakeside-Ashtabula.

Roberts won the contest by over thirty seconds, however her accomplishment didn't come easy; the War on the Shore course is revered for being one of the most difficult 5K lay-outs in Northeast Ohio.  Runners travel through the sandy beach side and scale numerous hills, a few of which are very steep and sustained.

Following the event, Roberts indicated that she's pleased to get her season off to a strong start and that she's looking forward to a big year.  She is a two-time qualifier to the DII Ohio State Championship and owns a pr of 19:05.32.  Her winning time on Monday was 21:39.18.
