Taylor Ewert opened her season in a big way at this past weekend's Trinity / Valkyrie Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.  The Beavercreek junior went 17:42.80 to take the seeded division win over an accomplished field that included many of Ohio's top ranked athletes.  Her result represents an Ohio No. 1, a US No. 26 and a US No. 7 for 2020 grads.  

MileSplit reached out to Taylor a few weeks ago to learn about her goals for the season.   

"I don't like to put exact goals in place because you can't always control what happens during the season, especially cross country (because of the courses and weather), but I did put together a loose list of goals that I'd ideally like to accomplish in order to keep my priorities straight and my motivation high.  I hope to pr this season (run 17:10 or faster) and I'd like to win the state championship or at least place higher than I did last year.  I'd also like to qualify for NXN and achieve a top 13 finish."
