(2017 Saturday Night Lights - Boys Championship Race)
The Saturday Night Lights meet is set to take place tomorrow at Centerville High School and will feature a wide range of contests including elementary, middle school, open, freshman / sophomore, varsity and championship offerings.
The meet begins at 2:15 pm with an 1K elementary fun run to kick things off and it culminates with the girls and boys championship races at 9:15 pm and 9:45 pm, respectively.
Last year, Troy's Morgan Gigandet established a new meet record with her outstanding 17:06.70 showing. Gigandet now competes for the Iowa State Cyclones. In men's action, Conant Smith edged Thomas Worthington's Arjun Jha to secure the victory. Middletown's Smith went 15:16.10 while Jha recorded a time of 15:18.50. Jha currently represents the Indiana Hoosiers and Smith, a senior, recently announced he'll be running for Arizona State University next year.
High level competition is anticipated again at this year's meet - if you can't make it to the venue to catch the action live, then make sure to check in with MileSplit on Sunday for recaps, interviews, race videos and athlete photos.
