Taylor Ewert Takes SNL Win In US No. 7 Time Of 17:08.10

Make it two big wins in consecutive weekend's for Taylor Ewert.  Last week, at the Trinity / Valkyrie Invitational, Ewert went 17:42.80 to establish a state number one time in her season debut.  Saturday evening at Centerville she raised the bar even higher; her 17:08.10 clocking in the championship contest represents a new pr and the number seven 5K performance in the country.

Ewert, who also excels in the race walk and steeplechase events, took the pace out hard from the onset at the Saturday Night Lights meet.  She was joined by sophomore, Emma Bucher during the early portion of the race but pulled away gradually in the second mile and was alone racing the clock by the end.  The junior just missed taking down the course record of 17:06.70, set by Troy's Morgan Gigandet in 2017.

Next up for Ewert and her Beavercreek teammates is the Nike Valley Twilight Invitational in Terre Haute on September 29th.
