Jakob McConnell earned a runner-up finish at last year's Western Reserve Conference Championship with his time of 16:09.50. This performance led his Kenston squad to the team title - they collected 24 points. Then a junior, McConnell only trailed current NC State University athlete, Nate Kawalec in the individual standings.
This season the Bombers senior has taken four top 7 finishes in five appearances, highlighted by his 16:07.60 showing on his home course at the Frank Gibas Invitational.
MileSplit spoke with Jakob following his second place effort at the 2017 WRC Championship.
