Conant Smith Breaks 15 Minutes On Route To GMC Win

           Due to his latest effort, Conant Smith is ranked eleventh in the country among 2019 grads.

Conant Smith became the first Ohioan and just the twentieth athlete nation-wide to break the 15 minute barrier over the 5K distance this season.  

Smith registered a time of 14:56.10 to earn a resounding victory at this morning's Greater Miami Conference Championship in West Chester.  His result represents an Ohio No. 1, a US No. 16 and a new pr.  

The senior from Middletown, who recently committed to Arizona State University, has collected four wins in five starts during the 2018 cross country campaign.  

MileSplit Ohio spoke with Conant for further insight on his performance. 

"I went out with the mindset that I ran 15:00.10 on this course last year during the conference championship and this year I wanted to break 15 minutes more than anything."
