EUGENE, Oregon - Former Yellow Jacket standout Mike Marsh placed 8th in the men's decathlon at the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Marsh, a 2002 graduate of the University, totaled 7,534 points to finish 8th of the 13 competitors who scored. He holds the school record in the event with 6,551 points.

Marsh was a 2001 NAIA Outdoor All-American in the decathlon. He was a two-time indoor All-American in the pentathlon.

Cedarville freshman Evan Thayer placed 22nd in the 1,500 meter prelims in 4:11.53 in the USA Junior Outdoor Championships.
