Ross And Javorek Named To OCF Preseason All-Ohio Division III Second Team

John Carroll University football players Frank Ross and Jeff Javorek were both named to the Ohio College Football 2009 Preseason All-Ohio Division III second team.

Ross was named as a second team receiver while Javorek, was selected as the second team punter.

Ross, who begins the year needing only ten yards to reach 1,000 for his career, was awarded second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades for his efforts in 2008. He led the team in receiving yards (521) and all purpose yards with 766.

Javorek finished the 2008 season second in the OAC in yards per punt (37.9), landing nearly 20 percent of his punts within the 20-yard line (8 of 42). Recognized as a punter by the OCF, Javorek enters 2009 as the Blue Streaks' most experienced quarterback.

John Carroll returns 12 starters and 40 letterwinners from last year's team that finished 5-5 overall.
