Jonah Hoey of Bishop Shanahan started his outdoor season off well down south. The junior went to the Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville. He came away with a pair of state-leading times.
Hoey started his day off in the invitational 800 meters. He placed eighth in the field in a time of 1:56.59, the fastest time in PA so far this season.

Hoey then came back later in the day for the invitational 1600 meters. Hoey went 4:17.02 for ninth place overall in the field. That was good enough to top his previous PR of 4:17.70, which he set in the finals at the PIAA State Championships last spring where he placed second.
