Women's Cross Country Reports on Sunday

The Bowling Green women's cross country team is getting ready to start preparation for the 2009 season. The Falcons will report on Sunday, August 16 and begin practice on Monday.
The Orange and Brown had a successful 2008 campaign finishing fifth in the Mid-American Conference and 15th in the Great Lakes region. The Falcons lost four seniors from last year's squad, but return plenty of runners looking for more success in 2009.
Seniors Hillary Hewit, Andrea Pereira de Almeida, Danielle Thornton and Carly Bates return this season. Wells (21st) and Pereira de Almeida (52nd) each placed in the MAC Championships last year.
Ashley Fischer, who ran for the Falcons at the MAC Championships, is one of eight returning juniors. A sophomore and six freshmen complete the Bowling Green roster.
The Falcons open up the season with a dual meet at Toledo on September 4. Bowling Green's first home match will be on September 12 when the Orange and Brown host the Mel Brodt Invitational. BGSU will compete in the MAC Championships on October 31 at Athens, Ohio after three other meets.
