Two of the nation's most accomplished pole vaulters will mix it at Heidkamp Stadium. Ohio's leader at 16-9, Luke Bendick will be in search of the Wayne Invitational victory, while Dalton Shepler will also look to keep his unbeaten 2019 outdoor campaign in tact. Shepler has collected event wins in all five of his outings, highlighted by a US No. 8 16-7 performance at the Warrior Relays which took place at this very same venue. Claiming the pole vault win this week will be a tough task for either of these elites (or anyone else in the field for that matter) and it might take a 17 foot clearance to get it.
