Ohio native, Jessica Rhodes earned a runner-up placement in the discus event for the Junior High School Division at New Balance Nationals with her throw of 109-1.
Rhodes, who will be a freshman at the onset of the upcoming school year, also took sixth place in the shot put competition with her 37-2.5 showing.
Her efforts, along with a third place result by Jesse Grace in the junior high shot put earlier in the day suggests that the future of throwing looks bright in the Buckeye State.
