Taylor Ewert Nets Second Straight 2000m SC National Title

From the onset of the 2000m Steeplechase, it was a race against the clock for Taylor Ewert. The rising senior from Beavercreek took command early and never eased up on her way to establishing a new meet record time of 6:33.61 on Saturday afternoon at New Balance Nationals.

The victory marked Ewert's second consecutive national title in the event. Last year at NBN, she crossed the line first in 6:38.79. Ewert, who's well known for top performances in the race walk, distance track events and cross country, set a new pr with her latest effort and finished nine seconds ahead of runner-up, Brooke Rauber (Tully, NY), who recorded an official clocking of 6:42.99.

Next up for Ewert is the Championship 4x800 relay with her Beavercreek teammates on Saturday evening and the Championship 1 Mile race on Sunday.
