Track And Field Community Mourns The Loss Of Austin Bruner

The MileSplit network extends heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and teammates of Austin Bruner, who passed away on Tuesday during a motor vehicle accident in Whitewater Township, Ohio.

Bruner was a 2019 graduate of Tri-Village and was set to continue his studies and athletics at Bluffton University. The promising track and field athlete capped off his high school career with a runner-up finish in the 400 at the Division 3 OHSAA State Championship meet back in June.

Austin's cousin, Calen Bruner shares his thoughts -

"I was inspired by Austin's love for track and the work and time that he put into it in order to get better. He was always open to advice and would do anything it took to improve upon each performance. He comes from a very small town that has been supporting him since day one. We are all heartbroken over his loss."

"Austin was a phenomenal person in general. He inspired a lot of people in his community and his school, especially the younger kids who he was always happy to help out."

* Once again, on behalf of MileSplit, sincere condolences are forwarded to all who knew Austin.
