(Demetrius Snellenberger made it look easy on Wednesday evening at East Canton)
"This is my home invite and this is where I've ran my whole life. I figured I may as well try to do something great."
Demetrius Snellenberger / East Canton
The 18th annual East Canton Invitational is in the books after a full slate of high school and middle school races went down on Wednesday evening. High school 5k's and middle school 3200's highlighted the cross country action on the campus of East Canton High School. New to this year's edition of the meet were separate contests for big schools and small schools.
In small school men's competition, Demetrius Snellenberger was on cruise control, as he soloed the victory in 16:30.59. The 2018 D3 state runner-up got out fast and put a significant gap on the field to win by 50 seconds and set himself up nicely for big events to come, including the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival on September 7th. This marked Snellenberger's fourth consecutive East Canton Invite triumph.
