The John Carroll Blue Streaks continued to keep its offense in high gear as they took down Division II Saginaw Valley State Cardinals, 5-0, Friday evening at Don Shula Stadium.

The Streaks have now opened the 2009 season with 11 unanswered goals starting with a 6-0 win over Malone College on Tuesday.
Getting things started for John Carroll was sophomore forward Corey Rider, who netted his first marker of the season at 12:49 of the first half. Speeding through the SVSU defense, Rider received a crisp pass from junior
Andrew Fatigati and buried the ball in the back of the net.

Brendan McCreary was next up, heading in a ball at the 30:34 mark for his first career tally.
The second half began with two quick scores, the first from Rider at 51:22, and the next from freshman speedster
Thor Eriksen at the 58:00 mark of the game.
Capping off the scoring for Carroll was senior Joshuah Tatro, who tallied his first-career goal off a pass from Kyle Seth following a corner kick from
Brendan McCreary.

Matt DeMarchi, for the second consecutive game, had to make just one save.
The Blue Streaks outshot the Cardinals, 12-2, in improving to 2-0 on the season, while SVSU fell to 0-2-1.
