Noah Malone has been named the 2019 US Paralympic High School Male Track Athlete of the Year. This is the second year in a row he has earned this honor.

The Hamilton Southeastern High School Senior, recently competed for Team USA on the senior world team in Dubai as well as on the junior team at both the Junior World Championships and the Parapan American Games. At the Jr. World Champs, Malone earned gold in both the 100 and 200 and a silver in the 400, an event he has not competed in high school thus far.

In the Parapan American Games, he helped Team USA earn a gold in the 4x100 universal relay, as well as earned a silver in the 100. At the senior world champs just a couple weeks ago, he was apart of another 4x100 relay squad that took gold.

Noah Malone has Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy, a genetic disorder that causes him to be legally blind. He has some peripheral vision, having the ability to see blurry shapes and objects from just three feet away. Malone was first diagnosed with this disorder in 2015, but that has not slowed him down from chasing his dreams.

This past spring, Malone took 2nd in the 100 and 1st in the 200 at the IHSAA State Finals, setting new PR's at both distances with a 10.59 and 21.31 respectively.

This has been an extremely long season for the student-athlete, having now competed on three continents in just the past five months. He has his sights set on earning a spot once again on Team USA for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

The senior will now have just a few weeks before he starts back up with training with HSE for the upcoming 2020 track season where he will look to go after wins in both the 100 and 200 individually as well as helping get his team to state in the 4x100 and potentially the 4x400.
