Karrie Baloga Runs To All-American Status At Foot Locker

New York's lone Foot Locker Nationals representative, Karrie Baloga (Cornwall), carried the torch well for the Empire State on Saturday. Baloga hit All-American status when she placed 11th overall, in a time of 17:40.3. Many believed this field of females to be the deepest in Foot Locker History.  Winner Zofia Dudek of MIchigan clocked the 6th fastest All-Time mark on the course, leading three under 17mins with her 16:45.00 winning time.

For Baloga, she became the 9th fastest Freshman in Course History, 11th overall when you include the races run in Orlando.  She also became the 14th fastest New Yorker on this Course as well.  In addition, Cornwal becomes only the 9th School for New York to send two different competitors to the National Championship.

Baloga was recently named Freshman Cross Country Athlete of the Year by the New York Sportwriters Association, and comes away tied with the 4th highest Speed Rating of the year by a New Yorker, as well as the 24th fastest rating in the country overall.  Among those top 24, she is the fourth fastest Freshman in the group.
