Annalyssa Crain Takes 12th at Foot Locker Nationals

Annalyssa Crain's junior cross country season has finally come to an end. She concluded her season in San Diego at the Foot Locker National Championships competing amongst one of the deepest girls fields in years. Crain would come across the line in 12th place in 17:43.80.

She was the 6th runner for the Midwest squad, that was led by champion Zofia Dudek. The Midwest team dominated the race this year, placing 7 in the top 14 places of the race, scoring just 24 points on the day. The Northeast team, which had runner-up Marlie Starliper and 2018 champion Sydney Masciarelli on their side, took 2nd with 42 points.

The 2019 IHSAA XC State Runner-up now has two All-American titles to her name after her 16th place finish at NXN and 12th place this past weekend at Foot Locker. Crain was the lone Indiana representative this year after taking 5th in the Midwest Regional just after Thanksgiving.

She became the 27th Indiana girl to qualify for the prestigious meet out west. Crain was the 3rd junior across the line Saturday, and will be among the top 10 returners in 2020.
