Make it two-for-two this season for DeYanna Champion. The freshman from Ponitz secured her 2nd consecutive 800m victory on Sunday at Capital's First Chance Meet.
Champion, who got her high school career off to a winning start in the 800 at last month's Tiffin Opener, earned her latest half-mile triumph in a come-from-behind effort.
Running second to Waynesville's Hope Erbach for the majority of the contest, Champion poured it on late to edge Erbach at the line. Champion clocked 2:37.76 and Erbach recorded a time of 2:38.07.
