The meet, which was a 6K event, was actually quite a bit longer and may have been closer to and 8K race that featured numerous hill along the way.

"It was a strong race at a really tough course with a lot of hills," head coach Cami Wells said. "We were a little more spread out because some handled the hills better than others.

"But it was a strong effort, we finished close to Cincinnati, which was a goal of ours. Eighth place was a solid finish and we have some things to work on in the future."

Senior Andrea Pereira de Almeida was the top finisher for the Falcons in the event as she finished 21st with a time of 23:54.34.

"She ran a very good race," Wells said of Pereira de Almeida. "She was very strong from start to finish.

"It was a break-through performance for her. She had her best effort against a strong field. It was a big accomplishment for her"

Senior Carly Wells and junior Ashley Fischer ended the race less than two seconds from each other as the two took 38th place and 41st place respectively.

Wells had a time of 24:13.71 and Fischer ended in 24:15.50.

"They've been very consistent," Coach Wells said of Carly Wells and Fischer. "They handled the hills well, which was good practice for the All-Ohio."

Freshman Abby Koch and junior Sally Kandie rounded out the Bowling Green scoring as Koch finished 59th and Kandie was 61st. Koch ran a 24:41.05 time and Kandie crossed the line in 24:42.64.

Junior Megan Kelsey (24:57.61, 67th), junior Heather Conger (24:57.61, 70th), junior Barbara Powers (25:10.81), junior Autumn Dettman (25:19.49) and freshman Mindy Henry (25:58.37) also raced for the Falcons.

The Orange and Brown will have a weekend off and will return to action on Friday, October 2 when they travel to Delaware, Ohio for the All-Ohio Championship.
