Louisville is on a roll to start the season. Following their team-based victory in the 2020 opener last weekend at Salem, the pre-season Division 1 No. 15 ranked Leopards were right back to their winning ways yesterday at Wednesday's East Canton Invitational

Top ten finishes went to Bobby Ganser (1st / 16:15.20), Colby Adams (2nd / 16:53.30), Stephen Ulrich (4th / 17:43.40), Owen Pukys (8th / 18:00.0) and Sam Chlebeck (9th / 18:18.0) for a 24 point total, which was 22 points clear of the runner-up squad from Green

In the Small Schools Division, East Canton defended home course with an emphatic first place effort. All of their scorers found themselves inside the overall top eleven. Alex Yarian led the way netting the overall win with a 17:24.10 clocking and he was followed by Gabe Shilling (4th / 17:40.30), Brylan Holland (7th / 17:58.70), Landen Demos (9th / 18:00.0) and Braxton Ohmen (11th / 18:10.30). Dalton High School took second place with 75 points. 

In the girls Large Schools race, Olivia Gang ran away from the field to win by almost 70 seconds. The senior from Green clocked 19:38.10, officially. Gang's teammates Leigha Hall (4th / 21:03.10), Olivia Fortner (5th / 21:51.80), Carmen Sims (9th / 22:02.50) and Paige Miller (14th / 22:29.40) made up the scoring group, as Green earned the triumph with 33 points. 

The Small Schools contest saw Madeleine Finton cross the line first in a time of 20:20.50 and the squad from Dalton secured the team nod. 

Finton, a junior from Columbia, demonstrated a significant improvement from her 2020 season debut at Keystone, where she finished fourth in 22:07.0. Dalton's scoring five all recorded top 20 overall finishes for a 54 point result, which was 36 points clear of the second place team from Garaway
