The beat continues for the girl's athlete of the week
She is just a sophomore at Monticello High School located in central Illinois. In such a short span Mabry Bruhn has enjoyed tremendous success since earning all-state honors in the 2019 Class A Girls Cross Country Championship. Since taking 13th in that final race, Bruhn has rebooted and gone on a tear this season, winning her first three contests. The latest was an impressive victory at the PBL Invitational in which she set a new meet record in 17:19- IL#2.
Perhaps Mabry's biggest challenge thus far on the 2020 season is obtaining the week #3 athlete of the week against the likes of Katrina Schlenker (Batavia HS), Aly Negovetich (Grant HS), and Ava Parekh (Chicago Latin HS). Mabry was victorious based on grabbing 46% of the votes (184 of 400).
