Greater Western Ohio Conference Championships: Meet Recap


The Greater Western Ohio Conference Championships took place this weekend as the last GWOC only conference meet for 2020. The GWOC schools will now join with other Ohio talent to compete in the OHSAA postseason after only racing within conference due to Covid restrictions.

The boys varsity race kicked off the morning with the Beavercreek senior, Connor Ewert, securing his undefeated GWOC season finishing with a time of 15:54.70. Beavercreek placed 4 men in the top 5 (Connor Ewert, Keegan Souhan, Ryan Massie, and Andrew Radford) leading to a commanding win scoring 21 points to Centerville's 81. Centerville's Aidan Downs placed third with a time of 16:27.20.

The Beavercreek ladies held on to a tight 3 point victory over Centerville finishing with a score of 32 to Centerville's 35. Juliann Williams, the Beavercreek senior, also finished her undefeated GWOC season with a time of 18:30.80. She was followed by Mia Robillard and Emma Bucher of Centerville who finished with times of 18:34.40 and 18:37.0, respectively.

GWOC teams will compete next week in their OHSAA district tournament meet.
