Kent State won the team title with a score of 39. Malone was second and Oakland University ended up third.

Moody, a junior, crossed the finish line with a time of 25:57.3 as he has been the Falcons top finisher in every race so far this season.

Freshman Jason Salyer (42nd) and junior Jesse Smuda (61st) ended up second and third for the Falcons. Salyer ran the race in 26:07.0, while Smuda ended in 26:40.0, which is a new personal record in an 8K.

Junior Johnston Kirui (77th), sophomore Ben Leininger (88th), junior Abraham Busienei (90th) and sophomore Peter Miles (100th) each placed as well for the Falcons.

Kirui (27:15.3), Leininger (27:42.5) and Busienei (27:49.3) all finished in under 28 minutes.
Peter Miles was the last Bowling Green runner to place as he finished in 28:08.3.

Red-shirt junior John Bernard, who raced in his final home meet, ended just behind Miles in 28:09.2. Erik Kuehner, another red-shirt junior, finished his final race as a Falcon in 30:49.0. Junior Jeff Ehler was the ninth BGSU runner to cross the finish line in 28:32.0.

“Both of them raced very well today,” head coach Cami Wells said of Bernard and Kuehner. “It's nice to see them finish out their college careers here at home.”

“I'm pleased that they raced well today to finish out their careers.”

Although the team didn't race as well as they hoped to, it will provide a chance to focus on the MAC Championships next week.

“We now that we have to be ready when conference comes, so this was kind of another reminder that it doesn't get any easier no matter who you,” Wells said. “To be ready at the conference meet, they really have to bring their 100 percent focus to be ready to go as a team.”

The Falcons will compete in the MAC Championships on October 31 in Athens, Ohio at 11 a.m.
