Korbin Martino Wins Ohio Indoor Title, Sets New US No. 1

Canal Winchester's Korbin Martino hit the throttle midway through the 400 meter final on Saturday during Ohio's Indoor Division I State Championships in Geneva, Ohio.

Once he made his way around the final turn, though, it was his race.

Holding off Pickerington North's Steven McElroy, the Penn State University recruit secured a new US No. 1 time of 47.43 seconds to win his fist indoor state title on the SPIRE Institute's 300m oversized track.

McElroy, who would later win a 200m title in 21.67 seconds and would place second in the 60m, finished in a US No. 2 time of 47.77.
