The Lakota West quartet of Cole Cronk, Zachary Plotkin, Zach Beneteau and Sergio Negroe established a new meet record time in the 4x800 at last weekend's Elk Relays, hosted by Centerville High School

The team members, who all played an integral role in the Firebirds 2020 OHSAA Division 1 XC team victory, dropped a 8:01.05 mark to usurp the previous record holders from Kings, who went 8:02.40 back in the 2019 installment

"Looking ahead we are really excited for the post season and for a few big meets like the Wayne Invite and our conference meet"

- Cole Cronk

"We were all on our second race of the day and wanted to just produce a good time and possibly a meet record, we got out to a really good start and once Sergio took the lead in the 3rd leg there was no looking back."

- Zach Beneteau
