Kick of The Week: Nathan Moore's Big Kick To Win Tough Mile

- - -

Uniontown Lake High School's (OH) Nathan Moore had one of the best kicks of the weekend to win the Mason Rod Russell Invitational boys mile.

Leading the pack heading into the bell lap was Mason (OH) High School's Brendan Pitcher. Pitcher made a huge push to get to the front with 500m to go. At the start of the bell lap, he had a 10 meter lead on the field. When he got to the backstretch and 250m to go the field had caught him.

Leading the charge with 200m to go was Hilliard Darby senior Sean Carney. Carney was working to hold off University High's (WV) Larry Josh Edwards who was making a push of his own on the outside.

With 100m to go Moore made his move and flew past the duo of Carney and Josh Edwards. He would come through the line to claim the win in4:13.06. Josh Edwards would place second in 4:13.46 while Carney took third in 4:13.85. Their times rank US No. 24, 30, and 33rd respectively. Pitcher who had led going into the bell lap fell back to ninth with a 4:18.16.
