The 1st annual National Throws Festival went down on Saturday at SPIRE and featured some of Ohio's top athletes along with talent making the trip in to Geneva from Michigan, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Illinois, Tennessee and Rhode Island.
Constructed just over the last several weeks, the meet was relatively small in terms of entries for its inaugural edition, but deep in competition level. The aim moving forward is to make this summer season showcase a must attend for the country's best throwers.
Event offerings included by meet manager and newly appointed SPIRE Track and Field Director Kibwé Johnson were the shot put, discus, hammer and javelin.
