Women's Summary

On a muddy surface, Abby Koch finished the race with a time of 23:40.5. Her time was the third best out of the freshman at the meet. Koch's 26th place finish was the top performance by a freshman at the MAC Championship, since Stephanie Hillman finished 21st.
“Abby Koch ran really well,” Bowling Green coach Cami Wells said.
Junior Carly Wells (23:50.7, 31st) had another good performance and junior Heather Conger (24:06.0, 42nd) had a solid finish for the second meet in a row.
The next three BGSU runners didn't get off to great starts and had a hard time making up ground.
Senior Andrea Pereira de Almeida (24:20.1, 52nd) and juniors Sally Kandie (24:32.9, 61st), Barbara Powers (24:34.6, 63rd) and Ashley Fischer (24:46.5, 67th) rounded out the scoring for the Falcons.
Autumn Dettmann (25.14.1) and Megan Kelsey (25:38.5), both juniors, also competed for the Falcons.
“We worked hard this season and people have improved a lot,” Wells said. “We have to keep working to get where we need to be.”
The team will compete in the NCAA Division I regional at Indiana University in two weeks. The top seven runners from the MAC Championship will represent the Falcons at the meet at 12:15 p.m. on November 14.
