Lutheran West Summer Series Information
"The summer meet series began in 2016. We attract track & field competitors from all ages: as young as 4 to over 65. We have newcomers to the sport, current high school athletes, current college athletes, immediate post-collegiates, former Olympians and prior to our canceled 2021 series opener, we had three visitors from Guatemala excited to compete while visiting family in the area."
"You simply never know who may be at the meet lining up next to you. Track & Field is a language that can bring us all together. The meet is run strictly by current and former LW Track & Field athletes. They all pitch in to help everyone enjoy the sport at the highest level all while feeling at home. The volunteers learn real-world experience that will help them in their lives far beyond their high school experience."
"These are current students and former students who are and were committed to the team while LW student-athletes and are becoming lawyers, physical therapists, engineers, scientists and everything in between. We look forward to sharing our experiences with others at every level."
"Age-group awards are unique and include the ever-popular jumbo chocolate chip cookies (these always go first), crazy socks and awards that make it fun. And of course, bragging rights for beating your friends. Everyone leaves with a smile on their face and looks forward to coming back for more."
