The 2021 OHSAA cross country campaign is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 23rd, but as is annual tradition the association-spearheaded Early Season Invitational will precede the official season start date.
This year the Early Invite will be staged on Saturday, August 21st at the state meet course, Memorial Park, on the grounds of Fortress Obetz.
While the course, the weather, the competitive stakes and the general fitness of the athletes will all differ greatly at the Early Opener as opposed to the state meet, gaining familiarity with the setting and the course lay-out in August can still pay big dividends come November for those who punch their ticket to the end-of-season showcase.
