A solid contributor to the Blue Devils team success during the first three years of his high school career, in 2021 Jarold has taken his cross country game to the next level.
In five starts, he's earned four victories and a runner-up finish, individually. He's won at Kenston, Wooster, Boardman and Vermilion and took second at Strongsville trailing only Walsh Jesuit's Luke Ondracek, who he's had a pair of good battles with this season. The other being at Boardman with Jarold prevailing.
He's complemented his front-running with fast times on the clock. Jarold currently resides at No. 2 overall state-wide with his 15:16.10 mark at Wooster.
The Walsh Cavaliers continue to load up on homegrown talent. Jarold will join a roster next year steeped with Ohioans, including current first year runners and 2020 OHSAA state champions Nathan Moore (DI individual, Uniontown-Lake) and Zach Beneteau (DI team, Lakota West).
MileSplit reached out to Jarold to learn more about what drew him to the North Canton-based school.
"From the beginning the coaches and team did a phenomenal job at showing me what they were all about. I'm beyond excited to be a part of such a great team, and thankful for my family, coaches, and teammates who made it possible."
