The 2022 indoor track and field season got underway last weekend with Ohio-based meets plus competition taking place beyond state lines.
State-side there were high school offerings at Findlay and Defiance. Abroad, some Ohioans traveled to Virginia and Massachusetts for the VA Club Opener and the Sharon-Colyear Danville Season Opener.
Notably, at the latter, Justin Braun wasted no time making his presence known as a senior. Representing his club team, the Ohio Heat, Braun took 2nd overall in the 60 dash against a collegiate field with his US No. 1 6.75 mark.
His new career best time places him in a tie for No. 2 on Ohio's all-time listing, according to the MileSplit database. Braun shares that standing with Blake Heriot (Gahanna Lincoln), who produced his 6.75 in 2010 at the UK High School Invite.
