BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Heather Conger led the Bowling Green State University women's cross country team to a 23rd place finish Saturday in the Division I Great Lakes regional meet at Bloomington, Indiana.
Notre Dame won the team title with 94 points. Ohio State edged Michigan with 102 points to take second place and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship on November 23. Bowling Green finished with 638 points.

"We ran close as a group, but we weren't far enough up," head coach Cami Wells said.
Conger was the top Falcon finisher for the second time this season as she ended up in 111th place. The junior from Euclid, Ohio finished the 6K race with a time of 23:12.42.
Senior Andrea Pereira de Almeida (Bowling Green, Ohio) finished her career in fine fashion with a time of 23:27.11 to take 124th place.
Sally Kandie (Kabsabet, Kenya) was the third Falcon to cross the finish line with a time of 23:31.00 to finish 129th.
Carly Wells, the other senior from Palentine, Illinois, ended her BGSU career with a 136th place finish in 23:37.30.

"They both would have liked to finish higher," Wells said of Pereira de Almeida and Wells. "They have been strong team leaders ths year.

"They have track left so that is a positive. They have had good careers."
Junior Barbara Powers (Bowling Green, Ohio) was close behind finishing in 139th place with a time of 23:44.50.
Freshman Abby Koch (Stow, Ohio) and junior Ashley Fischer (Fremont, Ohio) also raced for the Falcons. Koch crossed the finish line in 23:48.29 and Fischer ended in 23:56.09.

"They worked hard and accomplished a lot this year," Wells said. "They will rest up for a few weeks, before we start training for indoor track."
Emily Macleod (Michigan State), Kaitlyn Peale (Michigan), Sarah Pease (Indiana) and Wendi Robinson (Indiana) will advance to the championship as individuals if their teams are not chosen as at-large candidates.
