Ohio Athletic Conference Recognizes John Carroll Mentors As Women's Cross Country Staff Of The Year

The successful 2009 campaign natted Elmore Banton and Dara Ford the OAC Women's Cross Country Staff of the Year award

The Ohio Athletic Conference cross country coaches have selected Dara Ford, Elmore Banton and Kyle Basista as the 2009 Women's Coaching Staff of the Year.

The OAC began recognizing the Staff of the Year in 2005. Prior to 2005, the coaches recognized an OAC Coach-of-the Year.

Head coach Dara Ford, assistant head coach Elmore Banton and assistant coach Kyle Basista coached the Blue Streaks to three tournaments titles over the course of the 2009 season, finishing second in the OAC and ninth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The Blue Streaks finished in first place at the Ric Sayre Invitational, Salisbury Invite and Wilmington Invitational.

In her second year at the helm, Ford helped John Carroll improve upon a fourth-place conference showing in 2008. The second place effort was the team's best finish since the 2005 season, and Ford's best career finish as head coach.

The JCU coaching staff shares the award this year with Baldwin-Wallace.
