TOLEDO, OH - Kevin Hadsell, the University of Toledo's director of track and field and cross country, has announced the program's Athletes of the Month for November. Each month, the coaching staff chooses one athlete out of his or her event area that has been the example of what it takes to be a championship athlete. These athletes are honored for their leadership, work ethic and performance.
Sprints: Kimara Morgan (Jr., Columbus, OH)
"Kimara has made a complete turnaround in her running career over the last six months," Hadsell said. "She is starting to show that she has the potential to be a scoring threat at the MAC in the 400 meters."
Field: Alexandra Afloari (Jr., Deva, Romania)
"Alex approaches her training with a very determined passion," Hadsell said. "She is a student of the sport and will make a very big impact in the MAC, particularly in the triple jump and multi."
Distance: Sarah Neubacher (So., Ft. Wayne, IN)
"Sarah redshirted cross country so she could do her first round of clinicals for Nursing," Hadsell said. "Having to train at odd times and coming off an injury from last year's indoor season, she is in great shape and will be yet another Toledo woman under 17:45 this season."
After competing at the Findlay Oiler Opener (Dec. 4-5) and Golden Flash Gala (Dec. 11-12), the Rockets are off for the remainder of the semester and winter break and will return to action at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Western Michigan Dual in Kalamazoo, MI.
