JV Federal League Meet
The JV Federal League Meet held at Perry High School gave runners another chance to hit personal best marks for the season. As teams can only enter two athletes per event into the Varsity Federal League Meet, the JV meet gives teams the ability to showcase talent that may go unnoticed. Many of these individuals are people that have the potential to make a lasting impact on their respective team as their high school careers continue. No team score was calculated throughout the duration of the meet. Here are some highlights:
Girls
Sprint Events
All teams showcased strong talent in the sprint events. In the 100m dash, Sa'Nyah Gammon (Canton McKinley) took the title running 13.14. This was also followed by Emma Weirich (Massillon Perry) who ran 27.41 for the 200m and Amiyah Chester (GlenOak) who won the 400m in 1:07.67.
Hurdle Events
In both the 100m and 300m hurdles, the freshmen did not disappoint as they took the top three spots in each. Mia Keres from Green was one of the standouts as she finished first in the 100m and second in the 300m hurdles. Elaine Laubacher from Massillon Perry won the 300m hurdles with an impressive margin of over 4 seconds.
Distance Events
Grace Williams and Sophia Reed from Massillon Jackson proved to be a strong duo in the distance events. Williams ran a 5:57.09 in the 1600m and Reed went 12:42.63 in the 3200m.
In the 800m run, all podium finishers were freshmen that included Aubrey Fisher (Hoover), Leah Backus (Massillon Perry), and Claire Jurica (Hoover).
Field Events
Abra Manofsky and Cate Lenhart from Massillon Jackson went 1-2 in the high jump, jumping 5-00.00 and 4-10.00 respectively.
In the throws, Green delivered impressive performances with the duo of Samantha Lofgren and Brooke Shocklee. They placed in the top three in both shot put and discus. Both are freshmen and will be two to watch in the future.

Boys
Sprint Events
Massillon Jackson held strong in the sprint events. Kristian Satterfield and Joseph Lattarulo went 1-2 in the 100m dash. This was followed by Joseph Lattarulo winning the 200m dash later in the meet.
Hurdle Events
Many teams showcased strong performances in the hurdle events. However, it was two sophomores Riley Clapp (Massillon Jackson) and Rocco Wolfe (Hoover) who won the 110m hurdles and 300m hurdles respectively.
Distance Events
GlenOak's freshmen proved to be strong in the distance events with Andrew Harold winning the 1600m and Canaan Sommers taking the 3200m title. Both of these athletes will be ones to watch as they go throughout their high school career.
Field Events
A standout in the boys field events came from Green's pole vault. They placed three freshmen (Caleb McClure, Anthony McMichael, and Dorian Salem) in the the top three with each athlete vaulting over 9'.
Another highlight came from long jump with the duo of Evan Laubacher and Darnell McLeod from Massillon Perry going 1-2 and jumping 19-06.00 and 19-04.50 respectively.
In another team 1-2 sweep, Katour Ashcraft and Franchezco Vialardi from GlenOak had great performances in high jump, jumping 6-00.00 and 5-08.00 respectively.
Joshua Landes from Uniontown Lake was one of the standout athletes in the throws. He placed first in the shot put followed by a second place finish in discus.

GlenOak Relays Dominate
When the relays were on the track, spectators could often glance over and see GlenOak in the lead. They had strong performers in every relay they put forth. This led to them winning seven of the eight relays throughout the night.
