Kent State HS Open #1
Senior Dustin Brode of Canfield had the performance of the meet by winning both the shot put and the weight throw. Brode posted the current OH #1 and US #2 mark in the shot put by heaving the ball 63-2. In the weight throw, Brode posted the current US #5 mark by going 66-2.
In the running events, senior Fred Roberts of Orange tied the current OH #1 and US #7 by winning the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.15 seconds.
On the girls side, Collinwood and Walnut Hills both had solid meets. Collinwood won both the 4x400m relay (4:09.98) and the 4x200m relay (1:45.02) which is the current OH #1 time. Current Collinwood senior, and Michigan recruit, Amber Smith posted an OH #1 time in the 60m hurdles by finishing with a time of 8.95 seconds.
Walnut Hills also won three different events, with two of the wins coming from senior Shauniece Steele. Steele won both the 60m dash (7.88) and the 200m dash (25.98).
In the field events, Green sophomore Amanda Pinheiro improved on her already OH #1 mark in the long jump by four inches, this time leaping 17-4.
Throwing wise, the girls weight throw saw two US Top 10 marks and a new OH #1. Junior Ali Tolich of Austintown Fitch tossed the 20lb. ball an Ohio leading 48-10, which is also the US #6 mark. Kim Habegger a senior from Hillsdale finished second to Tolich by throwing 45-0, which is the current US #10 mark.

Maple Leaf Track Club Indoor Series #1
The distance events took the top billing at the first in a series of Maple Leaf Track Club Indoor meets at the new GaReat facility in Geneva. Edgewood-Ashtabula senior, Mallory Kreider was the only female double winner by winning the 1600m run with a time of 5:26.47 and also capturing the gold in the 3200m run in an OH #1 time of 11:35.48.
On the guys side, Bart Merkel, a senior from Gilmour Academy, also set an OH #1 in the 3200m run with a time of 9:39.63. The only multiple winner on the guys side was Brandon Eddy, a Cuyahoga Heights senior, who won the High Jump (6-0), the Pole Vault (14-0), and the 60m Hurdles (8.86 seconds).

Marietta College HS Open Meet #3
Byesville Meadowbrook junior Darien Singleton had quite a meet by winning both the 200m dash (29.17) and the 400m dash (1:06.67).
Ohio State University Buckeye High School Qualifier #1
A week after winning four individual events and setting an OH #1 and a US #5 mark in the 55m dash, Wayne senior Demoye Bogle continued his hot streak in Columbus. Bogle didn't end up winning four events again, but he did post two OH #1 and US Top 10 marks on his way to winning three events. In the 60m hurdles Bogle won a close battle that saw three US Top 10 marks by crossing the line first in an OH #1 (tie) and US #7 (tie) time of 8.15 seconds (Herman Washington of Gahanna Lincoln finished second in 8.16 seconds for a US #9 mark, and Marvin Logan of Warren G. Harding finished third at 8.17 seconds for the current US #10 mark). Bogle then came back to win the 60m dash in another OH #1 and US #7 (tie) time of 6.88. Bogle's final victory of the day came in the 200m dash where he finished in 22.46 seconds.
Trotwood-Madison senior Will Henry posted an OH #1 and US #10 time in the 400m dash by finishing just ahead of Bogle in 49.38 seconds. Bogle just missed going sub-50 by finishing in 50.01 seconds.
The field events saw great competition, but the pole vault really stood out as the most impressive because Joey Uhle, a junior from Olentangy Liberty battled it out with Austin Hicks, a senior from Olentangy. Uhle ended up pulling out the win by clearning 15-6, tying his already OH #1 and US #5 (tie). Hicks cleared 15-0, but was unsuccessful at his attempts at 15-6. On the girls side, Chesna Sykes, a senior from Bishop Hartley posted the OH #1 and US #8 time by finishing in 7.63 seconds to capture the gold medal. Fellow Bishop Hartley teamate, junior Chelsea Scott won both the 60m hurdles (9.23) adn the 400m dash (1:00.22).

University of Findlay High School Invite I - Div 1
On the girls side, this meet was dominated by Michigan athletes, but there was a bright side in the throws and in the distance events. In the shot put, Jackie Leppelmeier, a junior from McComb, set an OH #1 mark with a toss of 42-7, which is also the US #8 mark. In the distance events, Kaitlyn Llewellyn, a junior from Perrysburg, won both the 1 mile (5:35.01) and the 3200m (12:10.3).
The throws were the major attraction on the boys side. In the weight throw, US Leader Justin Welch, a senior from Eastwood threw the 25lbs. weight over 70 feet for the ninth consectutive meet by finishining with a first place throw of 71-8. In the shot put, Perkins senior Matt Hoty threw the ball 62-1.75 to capture first place honors.

University of Findlay High School Invite I - Div 2/3
Two OH #1's were set on the girls side, and both were in the field events. Sophomore Lydia Gaugenti of Bluffton tied her personal best by leaping 5-6 to secure the win in the High Jump and set an OH #1 mark. The other OH #1 came in the Pole Vault, where Pandora-Gilboa sophomore Ellie Braidic cleared 11-0 to tie the top mark in Ohio this year.
On the boys side, junior Antonio Blanks of Dunbar had an outstanding day by winning three individual events. Blanks started off the day by winning the 55m hurdles with a time of 7.96 seconds, then followed that up by winning the 55m dash in a time of 6.64 seconds, and then to cap off the day, Blanks captured the 400m dash title by crossing the white line with a time of 51.04.
