Still in their infancy stages, the Cleveland Youth Running Club has made a tremendous amount of progress in a short period of time.
Just 4-years deep into their existence, the Chardon-based club has grown to over 50 members, which includes a collection of youth age-group, middle school and high school athletes.
Major kudos are sent out to the program's coaching staff, which consists of Justin Thomas, Craig Nieset and Brad Geletka for doing yeoman's work by providing athletes an opportunity to train, compete, build relationships and ultimately elevate the sport at the grassroots level in Northeast Ohio.
The club has a board of directors, an annual banquet and owned and operated events. Not resting on their laurels, the coaching staff have plans in mind to further enhance the athlete experience as we move into 2024 and beyond.
On Monday in Painesville they hosted the 4th Annual Cleveland Youth Running Club Banquet. We thank the coaching staff for inviting MileSplit to enjoy the festivities and to help document the evening's events.
A special treat for the athletes in attendance, three-time Canadian Olympian Nate Brannen was the ceremony's keynote speaker and provided the attendees with a powerful message based on displaying perseverance and achieving big goals.
