Long Distances Rule The Day For John Carroll At OAC Relays

Tricia Doherty had a hand in both of John Carroll's top relays at the 2010 OAC Relay Meet

The Ohio Athletic Conference Relays test a teams depth as well as its mettle, and the Blue Streaks learned it had plenty of the mettle if not necessarily depth in placing ninth at the all-day event held Saturday at Baldwin-Wallace College.

Two relays in particular had strong showings for John Carroll. The quartet of Alicia Giannell, Maura Stepanski, Katie Skelly and Tricia Doherty finished fifth in a time of 4:45.98. Also placing fifth was the distance relay of Megan Lutz, Ryann Smith, Melissa Bresnahan and Doherty with a mark of 13:25.43.

The best individual efforts by a Blue Streak were turned in by Maureen Creighton and Emily Tillmaand. Creighton was sixth in the 55-meter dash (7.67), while Tillmaand placed sixth in the 5000-meter run (19:09.23).
