The Stars Come Out at OATCCC Division 1 Championships

Freshman Star Shines at First State Indoor Championships

---

Running his first full indoor season in Ohio as a freshman, Wayne High School freshman Jamier Averette-Brown has made quite the impression, one that culminated in his first OATCCC State Indoor title in the 60m with a time of 6.75.

Averette-Brown's time of 6.75 was historic for many reasons for Ohio. First, it is a top-ten 60m dash time of all-time in Ohio, ranking tied for 8th all-time. Secondly, it was not only a freshmen class record in Ohio, but also an underclassmen record. Lastly, it lowers his class of 2027 60m dash lead in the country to almost a quarter of a second.

Given his massive lead for his class, you would think that his time of 6.75 is historically great, and if you're thinking that, you would assume correctly. His time of 6.75 is a freshmen class record for the indoor 60m dash.
