OATCCC Indoor Championships: Unsung Heroes, New Crowns

Progress

From finishing within the Top-10 last winter at the state meet, to taking two spots on the podium at the OHSAA Division 1 Outdoor State Meet last spring, Hilliard Darby senior, Ady Armstrong (Hil. Darby 2024), has been making a name for herself in the state since this indoor season started. That was made apparent on Friday, as she stormed her way to three podium finishes in the sprint triple, setting two big personal bests along with a state title in the 400m Dash.

60m - 7.69 - 6th
200m - 24.93 - 4th
400m - 55.76 - 1st

Ever since the start of this season, she came right out the gate, putting up solid performances across the board in the 60m, 200m, and 400m, eventually setting new personal bests in all three towards the end of the season. Given her consistency to be able to put up the times that she has along with throwing down her fastest times towards the end of the season, she will be one to look out for once things start heating up for outdoor season; especially in the longer sprints of the 200m and 400m.

Delving deeper into her season this winter, she possibly has one of the most consist set of results in the sprints, when considering that she has been racing since December.  To top it off, Armstrong is currently within the Top-10 for both the 200m and 400m, and OH #11 for the 60m.

With there still being an outdoor season for her to close out her high school campaign, one of the questions left is: How much faster?
