Typically, most of us see all of the rising stars come out during the AAU season that takes place from late spring into late summer, except at the national championship stage for track and field, where we see some hidden gems show out in the middle school section; Sean Reith was no exception to this.
Currently an 8th grader, the Lodi Cloverleaf MS stud put Ohio on the map early at New Balance Nationals Indoor on Day 1 with a (middle school section) meet record in the final section of the 1 Mile Run, clocking a scorching 4:24.68, which shatters the previous record by almost 8-seconds (4:32.17).
He was quite on a roll this indoor season, posting up personal bests against some of the fastest high schoolers in the state. Starting with the 800m Run, he clocked a 2:05.63 at the SPIRE HS Indoor Games 2024 back in February, and actually ran 4:26.50 in the 1600m Run at Ashland HS High Performance Meet, just a little under a week prior to his 800m.
