TOLEDO, OH - The University of Toledo track and field team has a big meet - literally and figuratively - ahead of it this weekend.

The Rockets travel to Allendale, MI, for The Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State University. In addition to Toledo and the host Lakers - one of the top Division II teams in the nation - other participants include Michigan, Michigan State and Purdue, as well as MAC foes Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan.

Amanda Kaverman still ranks second in the MAC in the 200 meter dash (24.79). Ari Fisher is second in the 5000 meter run (16:48.66), Alexandra Afloari sits second in the triple jump (40-01.50) and Michelle Sutherland has the third-best high jump (5-08.75)

Toledo, one of the top-20 teams in the Great Lakes region, was off last weekend. The team is preparing for the MAC Championships, which take place Feb. 26-27 in Mt. pleasant, MI.
