EVENT RESULTS

The first day of the two-day All-Ohio Championships, held at the Perry Field House on the Bowling Green State University campus, has been completed.

Today's competition consisted of the first four events of the seven-event men's heptathlon, as well as the entire five-event women's pentathlon.  The Falcons chose not to participate in either event.

Ashland's Carsten Krohn leads the men's heptathlon with 2,976 points.  Krohn won the shot put event, came in second in the long jump and 60 meter dash, and placed fourth in the high jump.  Michael McCarty of Miami (Ohio) is second, just 38 points behind Krohn.

In the women's pentathlon, Miami (Ohio)'s Nicki Mitchell won with 3,884 points.  The win earned Miami ten points in the overall team competition.  Mitchell won two of tonight's five individual events and placed second in two others.

The schedule of events for tomorrow follows, with BGSU women's track and field participants listed.

A full recap and final results will be posted shortly after the conclusion of the day's events.
