ALLENDALE, MI – The University of Toledo track and field team turned in several top performances Friday at the first day of The Big Meet, hosted by Grand Valley State.

Junior Alexandra Afloari (3505 points) and sophomore Julie Snyder (3479) had solid showings in the pentathlon, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively. Afloari had the second-best mark in the long jump (18-04.25) and Snyder was second in the high jump (5-07.00)

Junior Amanda Kaverman recorded a time of 24.71 in the 200 meter invite, good for sixth place.

Freshman Kiah Douglas finished fifth in the long jump open (18-06.00).  Sophomore Jaime Gittens took sixth in the triple jump open (37-07.25).

The unscored meet wraps up on Saturday.
