This past weekend, many Ohio natives made the trip to two of the three (Nike Indoor Nationals and New Balance Nationals Indoors) indoor national championships that took place, with every single one of them representing #TeamOhio to their best and even many notching All-American honors and/or national championship titles.
Among #TeamOhio, we didn't just see a fourth-place finish for All-American honors, but also a new OH #1 All-Time in the 800m from Hilliard Davidson's Celia Schulte (Hil. Davidson 2026), who became the first female Ohio high schooler to dip under the 2:08 mark to seal herself in the OATCCC record books with a time of 2:07.52 at Nike Indoor Nationals on Sunday. This bests the previous OH #1 All-Time mark of Danielle Pfeifer (McAuley High School 2012) which was 2:08.84 back in 2011.
For Schulte, she has had quite the junior indoor season in the middle-distance events, from being one of several athletes to run quicker than the current US #1 (Michigan High School Showcase), to setting a new personal best at Boston (2:08.92) that was quicker than her outdoor best (2:08.97), followed up by a state championship title and now recently the OH #1 All-Time in the 800m just a little over 24 hours ago.
With an outdoor season and a full senior year upcoming for the Furman commit, we could see Schulte take down the outdoor record as well, which currently stands at 2:04.50.
